Suspended APC Women Leader Stands Firm on Criticism of Governor, Expresses No Regrets

Maryam Suleiman, the suspended Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, has reiterated her stance and expressed no regrets over her criticisms of Governor Uba Sani. In a telephone interview with The PUNCH on Monday, Suleiman described her suspension as an act of God and remained unfazed by the party’s decision.

The suspension came after Suleiman publicly criticized Governor Sani for attributing financial challenges to his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, during a Town Hall Meeting. In a viral video posted on social media, Suleiman accused Governor Sani of mismanagement and advised him against shifting blame to El-Rufai.

Despite her suspension, Suleiman stands by her remarks, emphasizing that she spoke the truth. She expressed surprise at learning about her suspension through social media and revealed that she had not received any official notification from her ward.

Suleiman emphasized that she has no regrets for her actions, asserting that Governor Sani’s actions constituted a betrayal. She highlighted El-Rufai’s support for Sani’s political career and cautioned the governor against antagonizing their leader.
