Suspect Paraded for Stealing 23 Cows in Gombe State

The Gombe State Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with the theft of 23 cows in Golombi village, Shongom Local Government Area of the state. Adamu Maikudi, a 23-year-old resident of Mai Rana village, Billiri Local Government Area, was presented alongside two other suspects by the state police command.

According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Mahid Abubakar, the Public Relations Officer, Maikudi stands accused of selling the 23 cows belonging to Anchau Maishanu. Abubakar stated that Maishanu reported the theft at the Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters, alleging that Maikudi and two accomplices conspired to steal his livestock from Golombi village and subsequently sold them.

“Maishanu reported at Pero Chonge Divisional Police headquarters that three suspects, including Maikudi, conspired among themselves and stole his 23 cows from Golombi village and sold them. The case was reported and an investigation was carried out where Maikudi was arrested and all the exhibits were recovered,” Abubakar disclosed.

Additionally, the police paraded other suspects involved in various criminal activities, including kidnapping, conspiracy, and possession of firearms. Among those presented were 25-year-old Hassan Danladi, 42-year-old Seth Adamu, and 22-year-old Eli Bulus, who were apprehended following credible intelligence.

“Danladi was found with some illegal arms in his possession which comprises dane gun, bow and arrows, charms and armlets. Upon preliminary investigation, the suspect confessed to have illegally got the firearms from Adamu and Bulus, all of Kaltungo Local Government Area. The case is under investigation,” Abubakar elaborated.

Furthermore, 25-year-old Buba Wakili and 20-year-old Babangida Ahmadu were paraded after a complaint from Buba Tukur regarding alleged intimidation and extortion threats. Abubakar stated, “A detailed investigation was carried out and the two suspects have confessed to have conspired among themselves to carry out the dastardly act.”
