Sokoto Governor Encourages Investment Growth as New Davkem Branch Opens

The Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering investment, particularly for small-scale business owners, to support economic growth in the state. Speaking through the State Commissioner of Commerce, Haruna Bashar, at the grand opening of a new branch of Davkem Restaurant and Conference Hall on Saturday, the governor lauded Davkem’s investment initiative as being aligned with his development agenda.

He noted that the state’s beautification and infrastructure development efforts aim to position Sokoto as a prime destination for business. “The Davkem investment will not only create jobs but also positively impact the lives of many in the community,” the governor said, emphasizing the state’s investor-friendly policies, including the swift allocation of land.

The CEO of Davkem Restaurant, Mr. David Agbonyin Adesola, also highlighted Sokoto as a peaceful and welcoming environment for business, encouraging both local and international investors to consider the state as a “virgin place for business to grow.”
