Sokoto and Katsina States have joined in declaring Friday, April 12, 2024, as a work-free day, aligning with the Federal Government’s extension of Eid-el-Fitr public holidays. The move aims to allow civil servants to continue celebrating the festive occasion with their families.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Sokoto State Governor, Abubakar Bawa, Governor Ahmed Aliyu announced the work-free day to enable civil servants to fully partake in Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Similar sentiments were echoed by the Katsina State Government, as communicated by Governor Dikko Radda through the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango.
The additional holiday in both states comes in response to the Federal Government’s extension of Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11. This decision underscores the significance of allowing workers ample time to observe and celebrate the conclusion of Ramadan fasting with their loved ones.
As preparations for the Sallah celebrations intensify, Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State extends warm wishes to the people of Sokoto for a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitr celebration. Similarly, Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State expresses his desire for workers to fully participate in the festivities with their families.
