Social Media Influencer Verydarkman Remanded in Police Custody Over Cyberstalking Charges

Martins Vincent Otse, widely recognized as Verydarkman, a prominent social media influencer and critic, has been remanded in police custody by a Federal High Court in Abuja. This decision follows his arraignment by the Nigeria Police Force on five counts of cyberstalking.

According to DAILY POST, Otse’s lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, sought bail for his client during the court proceedings. However, the prosecution requested more time to respond, leading to the adjournment of the bail hearing to May 29.

While the police prosecution urged the court to remand Otse in prison custody, his legal team requested that he be kept in police custody instead. The court granted their request, and Otse was subsequently taken to the National Cybercrime Centre.

This isn’t the first time Otse has faced legal trouble for cyberbullying offenses. In March 2024, he was similarly remanded for similar charges. The 27-year-old influencer, known for his controversial online presence, has been at the center of attention since January this year
