Canadian rapper Drake’s Toronto mansion is under investigation following an overnight shooting incident near the property.
Police cordoned off the OVO boss’ mansion on Tuesday after a shooting in the vicinity resulted in one person sustaining serious injuries, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The Toronto Police confirmed that the victim is not Drake and has been rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery, as reported by Toronto’s City News.
According to Toronto police, reports of the shooting surfaced around 2:09 a.m. ET in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood, where Drake’s mansion is located.
As of now, the suspect is believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle. However, no descriptions of the individual or the car have been provided yet.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with authorities conducting further probes to ascertain the details surrounding the shooting.
While the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, the incident occurs amidst an ongoing feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Both rappers have been releasing new diss tracks, heightening tensions in the music industry.
