Nigerian-American musician Collins Obinna Chibueze, better known as Shaboozey, has expressed his excitement after securing two nominations at the 2024 Country Music Awards. The rising artist is in the running for *New Artist of the Year*, and his hit single *Tipsy (A Bar Song)* is nominated for *Single of the Year*.

Reflecting on his achievement, Shaboozey took to X to share his joy, writing, “Wrote a song about winning a CMA in 2016, and now I’m nominated for 2! Thank you @CountryMusic and congrats to the other nominees. What an honor would be an understatement.”

In addition to celebrating his nominations, Shaboozey acknowledged Beyoncé’s influence in the country music scene, despite her snub at the 2024 CMA awards. He credited her groundbreaking country album *Cowboy Carter* for “opening a door” for Black artists like himself in the genre, calling it “one of the most innovative country albums of all time.”

Shaboozey has previously worked with Beyoncé on *Cowboy Carter*, describing the experience as life-changing. His song *Tipsy (A Bar Song)* topped the Billboard Hot 100, further solidifying his rising status in country music.
