San Francisco 49ers Top NFC West with 36-24 Win Over Seattle Seahawks

The San Francisco 49ers climbed to the top of the NFC West with an impressive 36-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. After a shaky start to the season, losing three of their first five games, the 49ers delivered their highest-scoring performance so far.

Quarterback Brock Purdy was instrumental, throwing for 255 yards and three touchdown passes, two of which were caught by tight end George Kittle. Kittle’s first touchdown extended the Niners’ lead to 23-3 in the third quarter. However, given their previous struggles with holding onto leads against the LA Rams and Arizona Cardinals, the game was far from secure.

The Seahawks quickly responded with a 97-yard kickoff return touchdown by Laviska Shenault, sparking a comeback. A touchdown by Kenneth Walker at the end of the third quarter narrowed the gap to just six points. Kittle’s second touchdown provided some cushion for San Francisco, but Geno Smith connected with Tyler Lockett, bringing the Seahawks back within five points.

The game was sealed when Kyle Juszczyk ran in a six-yard touchdown, securing a crucial win for the 49ers and solidifying their position atop the division.
