Nigerian artist Ruger, formerly of Jonzing World records, has boldly declared his independence, distancing himself from any godfather influence in his career. The ‘Asiwaju’ hitmaker, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, made this announcement just days after parting ways with D’Prince’s label.
In a candid Instagram post on February 6, 2023, Ruger expressed gratitude to Jonzing World and D’Prince but emphasized that it’s time for a solo journey. This move aligns with his latest freestyle release, ‘Blownboy,’ under his newly established label, Blown Boy Entertainment.
In the freestyle, Ruger unequivocally states, “I denounce every loyalty to some godfather; this year, I’m about me.” This marks a significant shift as Ruger takes charge of his artistic direction, asserting himself as the sole authority in his musical endeavors.
