Rema Urges Nigerian Politicians to Tackle Hardship with Long-Term Solutions

Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has called on Nigerian politicians to implement lasting measures to address the country’s ongoing hardship and poor governance, rather than offering short-term relief. Speaking on *The Breakfast Club*, Rema emphasized the need for sustainable solutions that go beyond temporary fixes.

“It’s not about giving rice. Do you know if some kids have an allergy to rice? What about tomorrow? What are they going to eat tomorrow?” Rema questioned, adding, “It’s better to create a platform that would consistently provide, educate, clothe, and shelter the hungry people.”

The singer also revealed that he has been advising Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on some of his policies during their meetings. Rema stressed the importance of establishing structures that can continuously support the masses, rather than relying on occasional handouts.
