Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham to Miss Champions League Clash Against RB Leipzig Due to Ankle Sprain

Real Madrid’s midfielder Jude Bellingham is set to sit out the Champions League last-16 first-leg clash against RB Leipzig on Tuesday due to an ankle sprain.

The 20-year-old English midfielder was substituted off during Saturday’s 4-0 La Liga victory over Girona after netting two goals.

While the Spanish club hasn’t specified a timeline for his return, they have stated that his recovery progress will be closely monitored.

Bellingham’s brace against Girona took his tally to 20 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions since his transfer from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

In the same match, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo also found the net for Carlo Ancelotti’s team at the Bernabeu, extending their lead to five points at the summit of the table.

Following the encounter with Leipzig on Tuesday (20:00 GMT), Real Madrid will navigate La Liga fixtures against Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla before the conclusion of February, with the return leg versus Leipzig scheduled for March 6th.

England is also set to engage in friendlies against Brazil and Belgium at the conclusion of next month.
