PSG Eyes Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal with €200m Bid Amid Mbappe Exit

Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly gearing up for an audacious €200 million bid for Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, as they prepare to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe’s imminent departure.

With Mbappe poised to join Real Madrid in the summer, PSG is actively seeking a replacement, targeting the 16-year-old wonderkid from Barcelona. According to reports from Marca, PSG is set to table a staggering €200 million offer for Yamal’s services.

Despite Barcelona’s knowledge of PSG’s interest in their prized talent, negotiations remain complicated. Jorge Mendes, Yamal’s agent, has reportedly met with Barcelona president Joan Laporta to officially present the offer. However, Barcelona, amidst their financial challenges, is hesitant to part ways with Yamal, especially considering his recent breakthrough into the senior squad.

Yamal’s impressive performances in the 2023/24 season, featuring in 37 matches across various competitions and contributing with four goals and six assists, have caught the attention of top clubs. Notably, his four La Liga goals this season stand out, marking a milestone in LaLiga history for a player of his age.

Despite PSG’s aggressive pursuit, Barcelona remains focused on their immediate objectives, with Xavi’s side aiming to secure a Champions League quarter-final berth. They face Napoli in the second leg of their round of 16 fixture, poised to continue their pursuit of European glory.
