President Tinubu Honors Chief Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on His Retirement

President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Justice Olukayode Ariwoola as he retires from his role as Chief Justice of Nigeria after a distinguished career in public service.

Justice Ariwoola, who has been a notable figure in Nigeria’s judiciary, served as a Justice of the Court of Appeal across several divisions, including Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos, before his elevation to the Supreme Court in 2011. In 2022, he was appointed as the Chief Justice of Nigeria, a role in which he has significantly contributed to Nigerian jurisprudence and the strengthening of the legal system.

President Tinubu praised Justice Ariwoola for his impactful leadership and dedication to the judiciary. “Justice Ariwoola’s tenure has been marked by a commitment to enriching Nigerian jurisprudence and fortifying the principles of law,” Tinubu remarked. He expressed gratitude for Ariwoola’s service and extended best wishes for his future endeavors.

The swearing-in ceremony for Justice Ariwoola’s successor is scheduled to take place at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024.
