President Tinubu Emphasizes Human Capital Development as Key to Nigeria’s Survival

 

President Bola Tinubu, represented by the Minister of Education, Mamman Tahir, underscored the critical role of Human Capital Development in ensuring Nigeria’s survival. Speaking at the 38th Convocation of Bayero University, Kano, Tinubu emphasized his administration’s commitment to prioritizing skills, technology, and vocational education to prepare graduates for both employment and entrepreneurship.

Tinubu stated, “Our survival can only be assured by the quality of our Human Capital Development. This is why we made education a top priority of our administration.” He highlighted ongoing initiatives, including the construction of skill and vocational hubs, entrepreneurship centers, and the revival of Islamic Tsangaya Centres for integrated learning. Additionally, the President mentioned the establishment of vocational schools in secondary education and Private Sector Innovation Enterprise Centres across the country.

Recognizing universities as centers of learning, Tinubu urged them to adapt to the modern world by repositioning themselves for development. He reiterated the administration’s commitment to supporting infrastructure upgrades, research equipment, and fostering programs that contribute to poverty reduction, employment creation, health promotion, environmental protection, sustainable development, and good governance.
