President Tinubu Congratulates Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on Retirement as Chief Justice of Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, on his retirement as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), following a distinguished career in public service.

Justice Ariwoola’s judicial journey includes serving as a Justice of the Court of Appeal in Kaduna, Enugu, and Lagos divisions, before being elevated to the Supreme Court in 2011. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of Nigeria in 2022, where he made significant contributions to the nation’s judiciary.

In his message, President Tinubu commended the retired CJN for his dedicated service to the nation, highlighting his impactful leadership of the judiciary, his role in enriching Nigerian jurisprudence, and his efforts in reinforcing the nation’s legal framework.

The President expressed his gratitude to Justice Ariwoola and extended his best wishes for the future.

Justice Ariwoola’s successor will be sworn in by President Tinubu at the State House Council Chambers on August 23, 2024.
