Imo State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has reassured residents of their safety amid a planned five-day sit-at-home order by Simon Ekpa, a self-proclaimed Biafra leader. Scheduled from July 29 to August 2, the order aims to disrupt activities across South East states.
Danjuma emphasized the state’s commitment to maintaining peace and security, stating that the police, in collaboration with other security agencies, have implemented stringent measures to prevent any breakdown of law and order. He urged residents to continue their activities without fear.
The commissioner also addressed the upcoming nationwide protest, affirming that while citizens have the right to protest, it must be conducted peacefully. Danjuma warned that any attempt to exploit the situation for criminal activities would be met with strict legal consequences.
