Nigerian singer and producer, Philip Kayode, popularly known as Pheelz, has debunked the idea that music is a quick path to wealth, emphasizing its deeper, spiritual significance. Addressing societal misconceptions, Pheelz explained that music is more than just a career or hustle—it is a divine force that brings healing and life.
Taking to his X handle, the ‘Finesse’ crooner expressed his thoughts: “Music is not a grind. It is not a get rich quick scheme. It is not a hustle. Music is life. Music is feeling. Music is healing. Music is God.”
In another post, Pheelz highlighted the contrast between the art of music and the business side of it, describing the latter as humanity’s attempt to commercialize something sacred. “The Music Business is man’s attempt to commodify God’s energy. The Music itself is God,” he wrote.
Pheelz’s perspective contrasts with the views of many Afrobeat artists, both emerging and established, who have cited poverty and financial struggles as the driving forces behind their musical pursuits.
