Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly eyeing Liverpool’s Luis Diaz as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to join Real Madrid this summer. However, Liverpool is said to be demanding a significant fee of up to €145 million for Diaz’s transfer.
According to El Pais Colombia, PSG has shifted its focus to Diaz amid Mbappe’s impending departure and uncertainties surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s exit from Anfield at the end of the season. The report indicates that Diaz, the 27-year-old Colombia international, could command a transfer fee ranging between €120 million to €145 million (£102 million to £123 million, $131 million to $164 million).
The transfer saga surrounding Mbappe and Klopp’s departure marks a significant transition for both PSG and Liverpool, as they face the challenge of maintaining success in the wake of iconic figures leaving their respective clubs. Securing suitable replacements swiftly will be crucial for ensuring a smooth transition into the upcoming season.
Diaz, who joined Liverpool from FC Porto in 2022 for £40 million, has attracted interest from other clubs including Barcelona and AC Milan. With 11 goals and five assists so far this season, Diaz has proven himself as a valuable asset on the field.
