Ondo State Amotekun Corps Parades 45 Suspected Criminals

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, commonly known as the Amotekun Corps, demonstrated its commitment to combating crime by parading 45 suspected criminals apprehended across the state’s 18 local government areas. The suspects were presented at the corps’ headquarters in Akure, the state capital, in a bid to ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Commander Adetunji Adeleye of Amotekun reiterated the resolve of the agency to prosecute the suspects for their alleged crimes, highlighting that thorough profiling had been conducted on each individual. Adeleye provided a detailed breakdown of the paraded suspects, which included 14 kidnappers, one dangerous driver, five burglars, two anti-grazing offenders, and five individuals arrested for theft and dealing in stolen goods.

Adeleye shed light on a specific case involving the dismantling of a kidnap syndicate in Akoko LG, where two victims were rescued and evidence, including a motorcycle used by the kidnappers, was recovered. He revealed the ordeal faced by one of the suspected kidnappers, who was brutally attacked by his accomplices in a bid to conceal their crimes. However, prompt intervention by Amotekun personnel led to the suspect’s rescue and subsequent treatment, yielding valuable information for ongoing investigations.

The commander emphasized the confessions obtained from the apprehended kidnappers, implicating them in various kidnapping activities spanning across Akoko, Kogi, and Edo regions.
