Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate in Ondo State’s upcoming governorship election, has declared the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) “dead” in the state. Speaking during his campaign tour of Ese-Odo council areas, including Igbobini, Kiribo, and Igbotu, Aiyedatiwa urged voters to exercise their franchise in favor of the APC on November 16.
Addressing the crowd, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the PDP no longer poses a challenge in the state, with many of its key figures having defected to the APC. “We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds,” he stated, calling on voters to rally behind the ruling party to secure further development.
The governor highlighted the accomplishments of his administration in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and security, pledging to initiate more projects if re-elected. He also reassured the public of ongoing efforts to address the state’s pressing issues, including the recruitment of more teachers.
Aiyedatiwa’s campaign received overwhelming support from residents, traditional rulers, and religious leaders. High Chief Bibopere Ajube, a prominent figure in the region, urged the people to back the governor, while local monarchs such as Judge Ugulapelewei Jemine and His Imperial Majesty Pere Z.D. Egbunu of Arogbo Kingdom offered their blessings.
The governor concluded by calling on his supporters to continue house-to-house campaigns and remain steadfast in securing victory for the APC, warning against votes for other parties that “have no clear plan for Ondo State.”
