Olivier Giroud Considering MLS Move, Eyes New York or Los Angeles

French forward Olivier Giroud is reportedly considering a move to Major League Soccer (MLS), with his options narrowing down to New York or Los Angeles.

Giroud, currently running down his contract at AC Milan, is ready to embrace a new challenge and potentially follow in the footsteps of Argentine icon Lionel Messi, who made a similar decision to join MLS in 2023.

With four teams to choose from across the two cities, Giroud faces the decision between the Red Bulls and NYCFC in New York, or LAFC and the Galaxy in Los Angeles. Both destinations hold significant appeal to Giroud as he contemplates pursuing the American dream.

As talks regarding a potential summer move to MLS intensify, Giroud, who boasts a World Cup title from 2018 and is France’s all-time leading goalscorer, is leaning towards a fresh start in the United States. While the possibility of a new one-year deal at San Siro or another challenge in Europe remains, Giroud sees a move to either New York or California as the best options for his career, especially considering his young family.

Discussions are ongoing, and Giroud is expected to make a definitive decision regarding his next move in the near future.
