The Ogun State Government has responded to public concerns regarding the rehabilitation of the Agbado-Oke Aro-Akute road, affirming its commitment to addressing the infrastructure challenges in the state.
The government’s statement comes in the wake of a video featuring 500 pastors urging Governor Dapo Abiodun to fulfill his re-election pledge by rehabilitating the road.
Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Ade Akinsanya, clarified that the government has been actively engaged in road construction efforts, having completed over 600 kilometers of roads since assuming office in 2019. He noted that half of the Alagbole-Sango Ota road has been completed, with the remaining portion included in the current year’s budget.
Akinsanya acknowledged the delay in project execution due to budgetary constraints and the surge in construction material costs. He emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges and ensuring the timely completion of the road rehabilitation project.
Highlighting the importance of citizen participation, Akinsanya called on residents to fulfill their tax obligations to support the government in delivering essential services and infrastructure projects. He urged the public to refrain from engaging in divisive tactics and instead focus on collaborative efforts to overcome economic challenges and enhance community development.
