Ogun State Executive Council Approves Seven Priority Projects

The Ogun State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, has greenlit seven major priority projects aimed at enhancing infrastructure and development across the state.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Kayode Akinmade, revealed this development in a statement issued on Saturday. The approved projects encompass various critical initiatives, including road reconstruction, equipment acquisition, and infrastructure rehabilitation.

Among the approved projects is the reconstruction of six roads, notably the Abule Egba-Ota/Sango-Abeokuta Expressway, alongside the procurement of essential equipment for the Gateway Agro-Cargo International Airport. Additionally, the council sanctioned the reconstruction of the 5.5km Ode Remo Junction to Sapade (Phase 3), the rehabilitation of Ayepe Junction to Mayflower in Ikenne Local Government, and the reconstruction of Adesan Street, off Mowe-Ofada Road in Obafemi Owode Local Government.

Furthermore, structural adjustments for the 19.2km Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government and the construction of Hospital Road in Ogijo, Sagamu Local Government, were also approved.

Akinmade emphasized that the procurement of machinery and equipment for the Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport in Ilishan Remo would facilitate 24-hour flight operations, enhancing the airport’s international standing and ensuring swift take-off procedures.

Additionally, the council sanctioned palliative work at the Iyana Ilogbo bus stop along the Abule Egba-Ota/Sango-Abeokuta expressway to mitigate flooding issues arising from recent heavy rainfall.
