NSCDC Seeks Public Assistance in Reuniting Toddler Found Wandering in Owode-Ede, Osun State

The Osun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has issued a plea to the public for information regarding the parents or relatives of a toddler discovered wandering in the Owode-Ede area of the state.

According to a statement from the command’s spokesperson, Kehinde Adeleke, the young boy, estimated to be below two years old, was found by a man returning from a church service in the early hours of Saturday. The concerned citizen took the child to the palace of the Olu of Owode-Ede, where residents searching for missing children were urged to come forward and identify him.

Despite these efforts, no one has stepped forward to claim the child at the palace. Consequently, the NSCDC has taken custody of the toddler, pending further action. Adeleke emphasized the importance of residents with missing children approaching the state headquarters of the NSCDC with appropriate proof to aid in the child’s identification and safe return to his family.

In the statement, Adeleke stated, “Anyone whose child is missing should come to NSCDC, Ido Osun, with valid evidence.” The NSCDC seeks the cooperation of the community in reuniting the wandering toddler with his family, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents, especially the most vulnerable members of society.
