The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command, Olusola Odumosu, has initiated the deployment of 5,230 personnel across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in preparation for the Easter celebrations. The primary objective of this deployment is to uphold peace and order throughout the FCT and its surrounding areas during the Easter holidays.

In a statement issued by the command spokesperson, Idoko Samuel, on Tuesday, it was highlighted that the deployment aims to maintain peace and security by ensuring the safety of residents and critical national assets. Commandant Odumosu emphasized the importance of vigilance and intelligence gathering, particularly in response to intelligence reports indicating a potential threat of attack in the FCT during the holiday season.

Various specialized units of the NSCDC, including the Armed Squad, Female Strike Force, Counter Terrorism Unit, Special Crack Squad (Operation Adaka-su), and Agro Rangers, have been deployed to strategic locations across the FCT to enhance law enforcement efforts and respond promptly to any security challenges.

Commandant Odumosu emphasized the importance of adhering to operational guidelines and avoiding unnecessary harassment of law-abiding citizens. He urged residents to enjoy their holiday festivities, assuring them of security measures in place at places of worship, recreational centers, markets, shopping malls, motor parks, and other potential flashpoints.

Furthermore, Odumosu issued a stern warning to miscreants and vandals, emphasizing that the NSCDC personnel are prepared to enforce the law and apprehend anyone found engaging in criminal activities during the Easter celebrations.
