Renowned Nollywood actor Stephen Alajemba, known affectionately as Uwaezuoke, has bravely shared his journey of overcoming rejection and embracing self-worth, revealing the challenges he faced due to his physical appearance.
In a candid interview with popular YouTuber Yan Kontent Factory, Alajemba recounted the early years of his life marked by rejection and indifference from others, stemming from his facial and physical features. He revealed that even as a baby, people shunned carrying him because he did not meet conventional standards of attractiveness.
“My mother told me that as a baby, people refused to carry me because I was not looking attractive,” Alajemba revealed, reflecting on the profound impact of early experiences on his self-esteem.
Determined to prove himself despite the initial setbacks, Alajemba made a solemn vow to his mother to make her proud, driven by her belief that he had not brought anything good to her as a child.
The actor candidly admitted to facing difficulties in romantic relationships, disclosing that women would “run away” upon seeing his face. He recounted his struggle to find love, revealing that he was unable to attract a partner until the age of 20, eventually marrying his first love at 23.
