Award-winning Nollywood actress Kehinde Bankole heads a powerful ensemble in the upcoming movie “Offshoot,” which will premiere in cinemas across Nigeria on June 14, 2024.
The film, produced by Oluwatoyin Adewumi and Benjamin Adeniran and directed by Ugandan filmmaker Ayeny T. Steve, promises an emotional and action-packed narrative that delves into the complexities of familial bonds and personal sacrifice. Bankole stars alongside a talented cast that includes Kelechi Udegbe, Ibrahim Suleiman, Greg ‘Teddy Bear’ Ojefua, Bimbo Manuel, David Jones David, Tomiwa Sage, Vera Ephraim, Nonso Odogwu, Fausat Balogun ‘Madam Saje’, Salisu Danjuma Gezawa, and Princess Kossi.
“Offshoot” begins with Modesire Mbakwe, affectionately known as Dee and portrayed by Bankole, celebrating her 40th birthday after being appointed the Acting Head of Investigation and Operations at the National Drug Agency (NDA). The film’s gripping storyline is expected to keep audiences on the edge of their seats as it explores deep themes of loyalty, duty, and the personal cost of professional responsibilities.
