During a significant diplomatic engagement in Doha, President Bola Tinubu emphasized the value of Nigerian youth, highlighting their education, reliability, and proactive nature as essential assets for bilateral cooperation between Qatar and Nigeria.
President Tinubu’s remarks came as he witnessed the signing of seven pivotal agreements between the two nations, covering various sectors such as education, employment regulation, business collaboration, and combating illicit trade.
Expressing optimism about the prospects for investment, President Tinubu assured the Emir of Qatar of Nigeria’s readiness to welcome investors, citing ongoing reforms favoring innovation and multiculturalism.
Acknowledging Qatar’s developmental strides, President Tinubu praised the country’s leadership and expressed Nigeria’s eagerness to learn from Qatar’s progress.
In reciprocation, the Emir of Qatar underscored his belief in the capacity of the Nigerian people, emphasizing the importance of harnessing their brilliance and hard work within Nigeria’s borders.
While affirming Qatar’s openness to investment opportunities in Nigeria, the Emir stressed the significance of follow-up efforts to ensure the success of the partnership, pledging to dispatch Qatari officials to Abuja for further engagement after Ramadan.
President Tinubu designated Mr. Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, to lead the government team in facilitating discussions with Qatari authorities on investment identification and implementation.
Additionally, the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, highlighted Nigeria’s vast mineral resources and emphasized opportunities for local processing and value addition in the sector.
The diplomatic deliberations saw the presence of several Nigerian ministers, including those overseeing finance, solid minerals development, health, trade, industry, and petroleum resources, signaling the breadth of engagement between the two nations.
