Nigerian Singers Shine at 2024 NAACP Image Awards Night One


Three Nigerian music stars, Tems, Davido, and Lojay, garnered recognition and acclaim on the first night of the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, held virtually at naacpimageawards.net on Monday, March 11.

Tems emerged victorious, clinching the Outstanding International Song award for her captivating track ‘Me & U.’ Her win reflects the global impact and resonance of Nigerian music on the international stage.

Davido and Lojay joined the ranks of awardees for their collaboration with Chris Brown on the hit song ‘Sensational,’ which secured the Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (contemporary) accolade. Meanwhile, the 55th Image Awards also celebrated the achievements of Chris Brown and Victoria Monét, who emerged as the night’s standout winners. Brown clinched two awards, including Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (contemporary) for ‘Sensational’ and Outstanding Duo, Group, or Collaboration (traditional) for his featured role on Ciara’s ‘How We Roll.’ Monét, on the other hand, secured victories in the categories of Outstanding Album and Outstanding New Artist, both for ‘Jaguar II.’
