Nigerian Army Neutralizes Terrorists in Zamfara and Katsina States

In recent operations, Nigerian Army troops have dealt significant blows to terrorist elements in Zamfara and Katsina states, resulting in the elimination of 11 terrorists and the recovery of arms and illicit substances.

In Zamfara State, troops raided the hideout of notorious terrorist kingpin Hassan Yantagwaye in Tsafe Local Government Area. Yantagwaye’s group was responsible for kidnappings and terrorism in the North-West region. In the ensuing gun battle, three terrorists were neutralized, and a substantial cache of arms and ammunition was recovered, along with the destruction of terrorists’ camps.

Similarly, in Katsina State, troops engaged terrorists in several locations within Faskari Local Government Area, including Shawu Kuka, Shinda, Tafki, Gidan Surajo, and Citakushi. Eight terrorists were neutralized during the fierce gun battle, and military uniforms, locally-fabricated guns, and stolen grains were recovered.

In addition to these operations, troops intercepted armed fighters in Ebonyi State, capturing one militia member and recovering an AK-47 rifle and ammunition. In Ogun State, vigilant troops intercepted 441 wraps of suspected Cannabis Sativa in Molegede village, Odeda Local Government Area, after smugglers abandoned their vehicle upon sighting the troops.
