Nigerian Army Chief Vows Total Eradication of Terrorists and Bandits

Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to completely eradicating terrorists, bandits, and other threats plaguing the nation. In his Easter message on Sunday, Lagbaja reassured Nigerians of the Army’s determination to restore peace and security across the country.

Highlighting the grave security challenges facing Nigeria, including terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, Lagbaja emphasized the Army’s focused and determined efforts to bring about lasting peace. He noted the significant successes achieved in ongoing operations against terrorism and banditry, particularly Operation Hadin Kai in the North East and other internal security operations nationwide.

Under his leadership, Lagbaja emphasized the Nigerian Army’s continuous strides in combatting various forms of external and internal aggressions, affirming the commitment to ensuring the total defeat of insurgents and marauding bandits.

Lagbaja underscored his commitment to providing the necessary training and resources for Army personnel to effectively tackle insecurity. He emphasized the implementation of quality training and equipping strategies to address the myriad security threats confronting the nation, in line with his command philosophy.

Furthermore, Lagbaja pledged to prioritize the welfare, training, and provision of essential equipment for Army officers and soldiers. He assured personnel of the Army’s unwavering support as they continue to push towards the final onslaught against adversaries.
