Nigerian Air Force Destroys Terrorists’ Arms Storage Facility in Niger State

In a decisive blow to terrorism in Niger State, the Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has obliterated an arms storage facility belonging to one of the most wanted terrorists in the region. Acting under Operation WHIRL PUNCH, military operatives are intensifying efforts to root out terrorists in the Northwest and North Central regions of Nigeria.

Edward Gabkwet, Air Vice Marshal and spokesman for the Airforce, revealed in a statement on Tuesday that credible intelligence led to the discovery of the terrorists’ storage facility. Gabkwet emphasized the success of NAF aircraft strikes in targeting and destroying the logistics storage located in Palele near Shiroro in Niger State on March 15, 2024.

Gabkwet stated, “Authorisation was obtained before the operatives struck at the target, and a secondary explosion confirmed the destruction of the arms and ammunition.” The precision operation inflicted significant damage on the target area, dealing a severe blow to the terrorists’ capabilities.

The weapons destroyed are believed to be linked to a notorious terrorist kingpin on the most wanted list. The NAF’s swift and precise action has undoubtedly hampered the ability of terrorist elements to carry out attacks on innocent civilians, particularly in Kaduna and Niger States.
