Nigerian Afrobeats Star Asake Brushes Off Grammy Loss, Eyes Future Success

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has gracefully shrugged off his recent Grammy loss to South Africa’s Tyla, expressing optimism for future nominations and potential victories.

Despite Tyla’s track ‘Water’ clinching the inaugural Best African Music Performance award over Asake’s ‘Amapiano’ and other Nigerian contenders at the 66th Grammys, the ‘Mr Money With The Vibe’ artist maintains a positive outlook on the outcome. In a candid interview with GQ magazine, Asake revealed that he doesn’t view the defeat as a setback.

“It [Grammy loss] is not a loss for me. I might just get more next year. In my head, I was not even taking it too seriously,” Asake asserted, showcasing his resilience and unwavering determination.
