Niger State Police Debunks Rumors of Food Truck Blockade to Southern Nigeria

The Niger State Police Command has refuted claims of trucks carrying foodstuffs being blocked from moving to the south through Niger State. This rebuttal comes in response to a circulating video on social media alleging the obstruction of food trucks at Kara-Jebba, Mokwa area of Niger State.

In a statement issued by the spokesperson for the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, it was clarified that the video in question is old, dating back approximately five years, and does not reflect the current situation. Abiodun emphasized that there is no ongoing blockade or stoppage of trucks transporting goods or animals from Minna to Kwara State and vice versa.

The statement further addressed a recent incident involving a Toyota Dyna mini truck carrying cattle to Kwara State, which encountered a minor accident at the Quarantine checkpoint, Jebba North. The police promptly facilitated the evacuation of the animals to another vehicle, causing temporary gridlock before normal traffic flow resumed.

The police spokesman urged the public to dismiss the circulated video, attributing it to mischief-makers aiming to foment unrest in the state and the nation. He reassured Niger State residents of their safety and encouraged them to continue their lawful activities without fear or hindrances.
