Neymar has hinted at the possibility of reuniting with his former Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, expressing his desire to play alongside the Argentine superstar once again.
The Brazilian and Messi formed a formidable partnership during their time at Barcelona, where they enjoyed four successful years together before reuniting at Paris Saint-Germain for another two seasons. When asked about the potential for a third spell playing alongside Messi, Neymar offered optimism to fans hoping for a reunion.
Speaking at the Bahrain Grand Prix, Neymar told ESPN, “I hope we do play together again. Leo is a great person. Anyone in football, everyone knows him. I think he is very happy. If he is happy, I am too.”
During their time together, Messi and Neymar achieved significant success, winning two La Liga titles and two Champions League trophies at Barcelona, followed by consecutive Ligue 1 titles at PSG. However, Messi has since moved on to MLS side Inter Miami, while Neymar embarked on a new chapter with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
Currently, Neymar is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury he sustained after joining Al-Hilal, and he is expected to miss the upcoming Copa America with the Brazilian national team. Meanwhile, Messi has begun the new MLS season positively and is preparing for a match against Florida rivals Orlando City.
