New Head of Civil Service Pledges Commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The newly-appointed Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Walson-Jack, has pledged her commitment to advancing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Speaking after a private meeting with the President at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, Walson-Jack expressed her dedication to serving the interests of Nigerians.

“I see it as a divine assignment, and I had the opportunity to assure Mr. President that, by the grace of God, I will not disappoint him,” Walson-Jack stated, emphasizing her readiness to collaborate with the entire civil service to deliver on the administration’s goals.

Walson-Jack was accompanied by her predecessor, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan, who described the handover process as “seamless.” Yemi-Esan expressed confidence in the new Head of Service, praising her as “capable, very intelligent, hardworking, professional, and empathic.”

President Tinubu, who announced Walson-Jack’s appointment on July 17, 2024, through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, charged her with the responsibility of maintaining integrity and innovation while adhering to the Civil Service’s rules and regulations.

Walson-Jack will officially assume her new role on August 14, 2024, succeeding Yemi-Esan, who retires on August 13. The new Head of Service has a history of public service, having been appointed as a Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and serving in various ministries since then.
