Music Mogul Diddy Arrested in New York, Lawyer Criticizes Charges as ‘Unjust’

Famous American singer and entrepreneur Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, was arrested in New York on Monday night by federal agents at a Manhattan hotel following a grand jury indictment.

Diddy’s lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, criticized the U.S. Attorney’s Office for pursuing what he described as an “unjust prosecution,” noting that Combs had voluntarily traveled to New York in anticipation of the charges.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Combs,” Agnifilo stated. He emphasized that Diddy is a “music icon, a loving family man, self-made entrepreneur and proven philanthropist” who has dedicated decades to building his empire and supporting the Black community.

“He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal. To his credit, Mr. Combs has been cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York a week ago in anticipation of these charges,” the lawyer added. “These are the acts of an innocent man, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
