Mercy Eke Defends Body Enhancement Surgeries: ‘It Was Worth It’

Former Big Brother Naija star Mercy Eke has defended her decision to undergo body enhancement surgeries, asserting that the procedures were worth the pain and recovery time. Speaking on the ‘Love Is A Game’ podcast, Eke disclosed that she had a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), liposuction, and lip augmentation in 2018, initially driven by trends and peer pressure.

“To be honest, at first, I followed the trend by undergoing body enhancement surgery,” Eke said. “It was just the trend and peer pressure that made me do it. Because I actually had a very good body shape. I was slim with curves in the right places as an African woman. But maybe, my stomach was a little bit too much then.”

Eke admitted to being scared before the surgery, which she kept secret from her mother. “I didn’t tell my mum. I went with two of my friends. It was painful. You won’t sleep with your butt for fourteen days. You have to be lying on your stomach. That’s the painful part. After the surgery, you will cry for three days. But it is worth it,” she explained.

She also addressed rumors surrounding facial surgery, clarifying that her facial features are natural and unaltered. “I’m naturally beautiful,” Eke stated, countering the speculations.
