Marc Guehi Stays at Crystal Palace Amid Newcastle’s Persistent Pursuit

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has confirmed that England defender Marc Guehi will remain with the club despite strong interest from Newcastle United on deadline day. Newcastle made four bids for the 24-year-old, the latest reportedly worth up to £65 million, but all were rejected.

With two years left on his contract, Guehi was seen as a key player for Palace, especially after the recent sale of Joachim Andersen to Fulham for around £30 million. Glasner praised the club’s management for resisting the offers and commended Guehi for his professionalism throughout the transfer saga.

“It was never really in doubt,” Glasner said. “Congratulations to Crystal Palace, to the chairman, to the owners, that they didn’t give in. Especially after the transfer of Joachim Andersen, it was very important that Marc stays.”

Glasner also highlighted Guehi’s commitment to the team, stating, “He always told me he is not pushing to leave Crystal Palace, and for me, that is the most important thing.”
