Manchester United has emerged as the frontrunners in the pursuit of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen ahead of the summer transfer window. The Red Devils, under the ownership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS group, are gearing up for a significant squad overhaul as they eye a return to prominence in the 2024-25 season.
However, United is expected to face stiff competition for Osimhen’s signature, notably from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), who are determined to make a statement in the upcoming transfer window. The departure of Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid has prompted PSG to seek reinforcements, with Osimhen emerging as a prime target.
In addition to PSG, United will also need to fend off interest from fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea, who are eager to bolster their attacking options with the prolific Nigerian forward. The race for Osimhen’s services is set to intensify, with the player’s €110 million (£94 million/$119 million) release clause adding further intrigue to the transfer saga.
Osimhen’s stellar performances for Napoli this season have attracted widespread attention, with the 23-year-old notching 13 goals and providing four assists in 22 matches across all competitions. His blend of pace, power, and clinical finishing has made him one of the most sought-after forwards in European football.
