Makinde Pleads with Wike to Avoid Political Crisis in Oyo State

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has appealed to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, not to incite political turmoil in Oyo State. The plea comes in response to Wike’s earlier threat to create a political crisis in the states of any governor within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who supports Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara.

Speaking at the Ijaw World Congress reception held in Port Harcourt on Saturday, Makinde, who attended the event to honor Wike, urged the former Rivers governor to refrain from causing unrest in Oyo.

Makinde stated, “I came to Oyo to identify with my brother and the celebrant of today (Nyesom Wike). When I showed up in Rivers yesterday, I told him I brought a peace offering because he has been boasting that he would put fire in some states. I told him, please, don’t set fire in Oyo State.”

Makinde also praised Wike’s accomplishments during his tenure as governor of Rivers State, particularly highlighting his infrastructure projects, acknowledging the positive impact on the people of Rivers.
