Luke Littler Dominates Michael Smith to Clinch Maiden World Series of Darts Finals Title

Luke Littler claimed his first-ever World Series of Darts Finals title with an emphatic 11-4 victory over Michael Smith in Amsterdam. The 17-year-old Englishman recovered from losing the first two legs, surging ahead to a 7-3 lead by the interval before sealing the win with a 102.21 average.

Littler, who had earlier dispatched Michael van Gerwen 11-4 in the semi-final, secured the £80,000 prize, adding to his impressive year with his third World Series title, following victories in Bahrain and Poland.

Littler’s dominance throughout the tournament, which also saw him overcome Chris Dobey in the quarter-finals, capped off a remarkable season. He previously won the Premier League Darts title in May after defeating Luke Humphries, avenging his loss in the World Championship final.

Reflecting on his win, Littler said: “I’m very happy to win. To come here and win on my debut is a good feeling.” He also shared his aspirations for the future, adding, “I would like to win another major. I want the Worlds as anyone else does, but another major would mean the world.”

When asked if he is currently the best player in the world, Littler humbly responded, “Probably over this weekend. To average 103 over four or five matches, it has been really good and I’m proud of myself.”
