Lizzo Announces Retirement from Music Due to Relentless Trolling Over Appearance

American singer Lizzo has made the difficult decision to retire from music, citing relentless trolling and scrutiny over her appearance as the primary reason for her departure from the industry.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the plus-size singer expressed her frustration and exhaustion with being constantly targeted and ridiculed for her looks. Lizzo, a four-time Grammy winner, lamented the toll that incessant bullying and false narratives have taken on her mental and emotional well-being.

“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views… being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look… I didn’t sign up for this sh*t… I quit,” she wrote in the candid post, highlighting the pervasive culture of negativity and body shaming that has plagued her career.

The 35-year-old rapper and singer, who has also been recognized with accolades such as a Billboard Music Award, a BET Award, and two Soul Train Music Awards, expressed her disappointment at the toxic dynamics of fame and public scrutiny.

Lizzo’s decision to step away from music underscores the profound impact of cyberbullying and online harassment on artists’ mental health and creative well-being. Despite her undeniable talent and numerous achievements, she has been subjected to relentless criticism and ridicule solely based on her appearance.
