Lewandowski Scores Twice as Barcelona Thrash Young Boys in Champions League

Robert Lewandowski netted twice as Barcelona cruised to a comprehensive 5-0 victory over Young Boys in the Champions League. The Polish striker opened the scoring after just eight minutes, finishing off a cross from Raphinha at the back post.

Barcelona doubled their lead through Raphinha, who slotted home the rebound from Pedri’s blocked shot. Three minutes later, Inigo Martinez headed in Pedri’s precise free-kick to give Barca a commanding 3-0 lead.

Lewandowski added his second of the night early in the second half, tapping in Martinez’s header across goal. Young Boys’ best chance came from Joel Monteiro, whose shot struck the crossbar, but their night worsened in the 81st minute when Mohamed Ali Camara scored an own goal from Alejandro Balde’s cross.

Monteiro thought he had grabbed a consolation goal in stoppage time, but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR check, leaving the Swiss champions winless after two group-stage games.

Lewandowski and Raphinha Shine

Lewandowski’s two close-range finishes showcased his predatory instincts, and with the double, the 36-year-old became only the second player to score 50+ Champions League goals after turning 30, following Cristiano Ronaldo. He now has 96 career goals in the competition.

Captain Raphinha was also instrumental in the win, scoring and assisting while being a constant threat throughout. His six shots and six key passes highlighted his influence in what was a dominant display from Barcelona, bouncing back strongly from their previous 2-1 loss to Monaco.
