Lagos Task Force Arrests 25 Suspected Hoodlums for Attacks on Motorists

The Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences Enforcement Unit has arrested 25 suspected hoodlums accused of attacking motorists along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. This development follows a series of complaints from motorists and residents about the rising criminal activities in the area.

The task force’s spokesperson, Mr. Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, confirmed the arrests in a statement on Friday, noting that the operation targeted key locations including Chisco Roundabout, Elegushi, Ikate Roundabout, and Marwa Bus Stop.

The suspects were reportedly involved in ambushing motorists, especially during rush hour, hiding in inconspicuous spots to carry out their attacks. Abdulraheem emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring the safety of its residents and will not tolerate criminal elements disrupting the peace.

The task force had conducted surveillance prior to the arrests, uncovering that the miscreants used pedestrian bridges at Ikate and Marwa Bus Stops to identify vulnerable motorists, particularly those in broken-down vehicles.
