In a recent interview with Variety, pop icon Lady Gaga revealed why she chose not to address long-standing rumors about her being transgender. The singer explained that she didn’t want to contribute to the notion that being transgender is something shameful, especially for younger individuals facing similar accusations.
“I didn’t feel like a victim with that lie and I thought: What about a kid who is being accused of that who would think that a public figure like me would feel shame?” Gaga stated, emphasizing her decision to remain silent in the interest of others.
She further shared her perspective on managing rumors throughout her career, saying, “I’ve been in situations where fixing a rumour was not in the best interest and the well-being of other people.”
Additionally, Lady Gaga recently announced her engagement to her French boyfriend, Michael Polansky, whom she was introduced to by her mother.
