Kwara Governor Visits Flood-Hit Bode Saadu, Pledges Support for Affected Residents

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq visited Bode Saadu on Thursday to sympathize with residents after heavy downpours caused flooding, submerging homes and affecting the Arinun Bridge. Accompanied by officials, including the Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. John Bello, the Governor assessed the damage firsthand and assured residents of immediate relief.

Governor AbdulRazaq linked the flooding to challenges with a temporary bypass constructed as part of the Federal Ministry of Works’ dualization of the Ilorin-Mokwa Road. He said experts, including the Director of Highway from the ministry, are en route to the site to address the issue. “We have also deployed the State Emergency Management Agency for some relief measures,” the Governor added.

AbdulRazaq urged residents to observe building setbacks to minimize the impact of such disasters. “Half of the buildings wouldn’t have been affected if they had observed the right setbacks,” he noted.
