Kwara Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Honored as Sardaunan Ilorin

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been conferred with the prestigious title of Sardaunan Ilorin by the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari. The Emir recognized the Governor’s significant contributions to the culture and tradition of Nigeria’s southernmost Emirate.

The Sardaunan Ilorin title, previously held by the late philanthropist Alhaji Umar Saro, reflects the Governor’s dedication to the community, particularly his active participation in the annual Ilorin Grand Durbar. The Emir praised AbdulRazaq for his leadership qualities, both in Kwara State and as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, highlighting his popularity and commitment to peace and development.

Governor AbdulRazaq expressed gratitude for the honor, stating that it motivates him to continue his efforts for the community. He also acknowledged the role of traditional rulers in maintaining peace in Kwara State, advocating for constitutional recognition of their contributions.

The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Majority Leader of the Kwara House of Assembly, cabinet members, and other top government officials. The Governor also extended his condolences to the Emir over the recent passing of the mother of Sarkin Gobir, Alhaji Muhammadu Issa Bawa.
