Deputy Controller of the Maximum Correctional Center in Kirikiri, Lagos, Michael Anugwa, has admitted that crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, was placed in a separate cell during his detention. This clarification came in response to allegations made by Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who claimed that Bobrisky was provided an apartment outside the facility.
Addressing the House of Representatives Joint Committee on Financial Crimes and Reformatory Institutions, Anugwa denied the allegations, stating that Bobrisky was legally admitted into the correctional center on April 13, 2024, with a valid warrant.
Anugwa explained that Bobrisky initially spent 10 days at the Medium Correctional Center but was transferred to the maximum facility after refusing prison food and opting for self-feeding. Due to Bobrisky’s “special features,” including breasts, he was placed in a separate cell for security reasons. During his time in custody, Bobrisky had 39 visitors, and his self-feeding arrangement was managed by two nominated individuals.
