Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall Backs New Chelsea Manager Enzo Maresca to Lead Club to Success

Chelsea’s new manager, Enzo Maresca, is expected to make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge, according to midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Dewsbury-Hall, who joined Chelsea from Leicester City in a £30m move, believes Maresca will quickly drive the club towards challenging for major trophies and securing a Champions League spot.

Dewsbury-Hall highlighted Maresca’s influence during their time at Leicester, where the manager played a key role in guiding the team to a Championship title and Premier League promotion. “The manager was a big catalyst in wanting me to come,” Dewsbury-Hall told BBC Sport. He added that Maresca’s ability to rally and improve teams will help Chelsea compete for top positions in the Premier League.

Despite Maresca being relatively unknown to some, Dewsbury-Hall is confident in his capabilities. “I genuinely think in a short space of time we can be pushing for minimum top four – but more than that,” Dewsbury-Hall asserted.

Having excelled as Leicester’s Player and Players’ Player of the Year last season, Dewsbury-Hall is excited about his role under Maresca’s system. He noted that the manager’s tactical approaches, already impressive in their early weeks, have resonated with the squad.

Dewsbury-Hall, who missed Chelsea’s recent 2-2 draw with Wrexham, could make his debut in the upcoming pre-season friendly against Celtic. He emphasized the importance of team buy-in to Maresca’s philosophy, which he believes will lead to significant success if fully embraced by the squad.

The midfielder also expressed confidence in Maresca’s ability to succeed where previous managers like Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter, and Thomas Tuchel struggled, particularly under the current ownership. Dewsbury-Hall’s optimism reflects the high expectations for Maresca’s tenure at Chelsea.
